BURNOUT PAD REQUEST

Hi guys, we've had a couple of people asking what happened to the petitions you signed some time ago in relation to setting up a burnout pad. I'll let you know early next week. In the meantime let us know what you think about that and anything else Council might do!

  1. Hello Gundy Guy and Mojo. I was involved in those discussions at the time. Council organised a meeting with interested people to discuss the idea of a burn-out facility within the GRC area. We also invited members of the Millmerran Auto Club (MAC) to outline the operations of that organisation.
It was the view of the Council and members in attendance at that meeting, that Council not encourage a ‘burn-out’ facility but
recommend young people get involved with organisations such as the Millmerram Auto Club. One of the big issues for Council is the cost of liability insurance. The meeting was advised that a lot of young, and not so young, motor enthusiasts from the Goondiwindi area are members of the MAC and regularly attend meets held in Millmerran, Stanthorpe and Warwick to participate in motor sports. If you're interested maybe you could contact them. Their website address is www.millmerranautoclub.com

  4. So the council recommends that a lot of young and not so young motor enthusiasts go out of town and spend their money?

I dont think a burnout pad on its own is much, maybe a 1/8 mile drag strip and burnout pad?
Monthly meets with proceeds going to local charities?
